Desde el nacimiento del cine, un fenómeno particular relacionado con la aparición y consolidación del nuevo medio tuvo lugar en el campo de las letras. Las páginas de las revistas culturales argentinas de las primeras décadas del pasado siglo, y particularmente las publicadas durante los años veinte, fueron el escenario de la configuración de un discurso sobre el cinematógrafo por parte de escritores e intelectuales; de este modo, esas mismas páginas resultan el registro de un modo particular de cruce y confluencia entre ambos medios. En tanto, durante el mencionado período, los escritores hispánicos no permanecieron ajenos a la novedad, y registraron sus impresiones no sólo en su obra literaria sino también mediante un discurso teórico anclado en la labor del escritor, este trabajo pretende dar cuenta de un aspecto central de esta relación: la configuración de un objeto cine en las revistas culturales por parte de aquellos escritores que fueron testigos de la consolidación del nuev...

El mundo se encuentra estructurado por formas naturales y artificiales, cargadas de significación transmitida en la configuración de un lenguaje, logrando la comprensión por parte del ser humano, mediante la experiencia y el proceso de percepción. La forma artificial, al ser generada por el ser humano, se configura como el logro de la materialización del objeto pensado; su lenguaje comprende la interface como la comunicación del objeto hacia el sujeto desde la simple observación de un conglomerado de piezas, hasta la información estética como factor subjetivo y la percepción del todo como algo más que la suma de sus partes, reflejado tanto en la comprensión del uso como en un sistema de símbolos.

The digital colourisation of historical photographs has received prominent and favourable media attention since the 2010s; several museums, heritage organisations, and publishers have adopted it. In the US and British contexts, both the selection of images to colourise and the ways in which their colourisation is discussed point to the overlooked but significant role the process plays in reinforcing racial identities and extending historical biases into the present. By examining the work of high-profile colourisers and the presentation of colourised photographs in social and traditional media, I argue that digital colourisation is a form of 'white sight' which sustains whiteness and its attendant powers. Operating at the intersection of a visual economy and an affective one, digitally colourised photographs generate an emotional response and foster a collective identity geared towards whiteness. In this article, I attend to the impact of digitisation on historical photographs, the sources and subject matter of digitally colourised photographs, and the language used to discuss them, in order to reveal the structures of racial and gender bias underneath-and challenge assertions that colourisation is a form of caring for the past.

Иконостас у цркви Светог Николе у Гњилану представља монументалну дрвену конструкцију на којој се налазе иконе које је 1900. године насликао чувени велешки зограф Димитар Андонов Папрадишки. Овај иконостас други је по реду израђен за ову цркву, јер је први страдао у пожару у фебруару 1893. године. Од првобитног су
сачуване царске двери, које се и данас налазе на новој олтарској прегради. Њих је 1887. године осликао Константин Јаковљевић из Галичника. Оне представљају дело зографског сликарства и неће бити анализиране у овом тексту, који представља прилог проучавању опуса Димитра Андонова Папрадишког, као и црквеног сликарства у последњим деценијама османске власти на Балкану које је било под утицајем руског академског сликарства.

У тексту се презентују иконостаси које је у цр-
квама Светог Димитрија у Добротину и Светог Николе у
Косовској Каменици израдио Хаџи Костадин Крстев, ве-
лешки зограф. Иконе за оба иконостаса насликао је 1862.
године, годину дана након што је израдио иконе за иконо-
стас у цркви у Великом Ропотову, који је публикован пре
неколико година. С обзиром на то да се ради о олтарским
преградама које су израђене у складу са актуелном зограф-
ском пикторалном поетиком, и веома сличним програмом,
у овом раду обрађене су заједно. Циљ овог текста је, између
осталог, да се скрене пажња на нововековну црквену умет-
ност која сведочи о дугом и непрекинутом животу Срба на
тлу данашњег Косова и Метохије, а која је угрожена новим
естетско-практичним тенденцијама.

Although Alexander von Humboldt is well known for his major impact on the development of new scientific knowledge and the rise of disciplines such as Geography and Ecology, his critical reflections on languages from a scientific point of view, as well as from an aesthetic perspective, still receive little attention. New research has shown that von Humboldt's writings on the languages of indigenous people may well be considered the beginning of anthropological-comparative linguistics. This article outlines the significance of von Humboldt's aesthetics of language in his own scientific texts. He explores the different dimensions of sound landscapes, combinating scientific description in prose and the sound of the indigenous terms. By this strategy, he connects different forms of "text islands" ('Textinseln') in order to create an intratextual web of knowledge archipelagos based on his concept of a science which refers to the senses ('sinnliche Wissenschaf...

Zusammenfassung In Gemalden, die den spaten Alexander von Humboldt zeigen, finden sich bildlich verdichtete Zeichen seines wissenschaftlichen Lebens. So erinnert das Bild des von Humboldt nicht ganz bestiegenen Chimborazo an die epistemische Funktion des Unabgeschlossenen in seiner Arbeit, wahrend Karte, Globus und die charakteristische Korperhaltung auf die zentrale Bedeutung der Bewegung und auf das „Schreiben im Angesicht der Dinge“ verweisen. Auffallig ist die Prasenz des Schreibmaterials in den Bildern, das als Verweis auf die lebenslange Bedeutung der Amerikanischen Reisetagebucher verstanden werden kann. In diesen kommen wiederum die zentralen Momente der Humboldtian Science zum Ausdruck. Afin d'examiner la réception des publicités sociales et humanitaires, cette étude pluridisciplinaire analyse trois dimensions initiales : savoir avec l'objet, faire/être avec l'objet et analyse de l'objet. Ce choix est justifié sur la base d'une méthodologie pluridimensionnelle basée sur les études culturelles. Nous essayons d'expliquer les processus de réception, d'interprétation, de négociation et les discours des individus. The article presents the phenomenon of exceeding literary and aesthetic norms by Brussels surrealism. Surrealist artists and writers worked very vigorously on changing the world, criticizing their contemporary socio-political order based on the bourgeois system of values. The original, and at the same time revolutionary, compositions of the surreal avant-garde broke conventions using various artistic strategies. Rejecting the borders of modernism and formalism, as well as political imperatives, Paul Nougé (1895Nougé ( -1967)), the main figure of Belgian surrealism and his first theoretician, initiated the work liberated by the transformative power of language. Si Montaigne n'y est jamais cité, chacun d'eux retient quelque chose de la leçon des Essais, en livrant un autoportrait de l'autrice en lecteur.
Alice Zeniter's nine essays in Toute une moitié du monde reflect on the paradoxical nature of every reader's demand for fiction: "I want fiction to take me out of the world and educate me about it at the same time". L'articolo si sofferma sullo studio delle alterazioni formali e sulle configurazioni del corpo umano nei bozzetti dei costumi di scena e nei manifesti pubblicitari della prima metà del Novecento. La letteratura offre un ampio panorama sulle produzioni grafiche realizzate per la divulgazione delle innovazioni teatrali nell'ambito delle tecniche e dei materiali pensati per sorprendere una società ormai ingerita dai suoni stridenti della velocità; rimane tuttavia aperta la questione relativa alla lettura compositivo-segnica dei valori cinetici e spaziali. Questo studio offrirebbe un approfondimento sulle connessioni tra il corpo nello spazio teatrale e la sua rappresentazione nell'esecuzione del movimento, per osservare il processo di trasfigurazione del corpo nel luogo del disegno. La lettura delle immagini prese in esame guarda alle possibilità dispiegate dalle rappresentazioni del corpo che si muove dentro la 'maschera scenica' con l'obiettivo di riconoscere nelle strategie compositive adottate un vocabolario di segni atti a descrivere gli stati di moto del danzatore. La disposizione degli elementi, la struttura geometrica, gli effetti cromatici, la collocazione dei testi, le metafore grafiche sono alcuni dei valori sui quali il saggio si concentra, ricostruendo un periodo della storia dell'immagine fortemente legato alla trasformazione del corpo nello spazio, attraverso il progetto del costume di scena, nella qualità di simulacro del ballerino e di suo doppio. Nel buio totale di un piccolo teatro si poteva assistere all'incandescenza di un corpo che si espandeva nello spazio attraverso grandi e leggerissimi tessuti bianchi di seta sostenuti da lunghe pertiche, mossi al ritmo della luce, pròtesi di quelle gradazioni luminose ottenute dalle recenti tecnologie del gas illuminante. Il movimento rotatorio e sinuoso del bianco materico nascondeva completamente il corpo della danzatrice restituendo agli occhi degli spettatori un'eterea visione, una parvenza effimera dello spazio-luce nel linguaggio sonoro wagneriano, alla ricerca di un codice comunicativo in assenza di parole. Come reazione alla tradizione ballettistica del secolo precedente, Loïe Fuller incarnò la voce della trasformazione del corpo in movimento sotto la luce, una visione della forma foriera di quelle riflessioni che, di lì a breve, avrebbero sviluppato molti degli artisti dell'avanguardia italiana e della scena internazionale. Nei disegni di Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec e di Koloman Moser questa linea 'controlla e unisce' le movenze serpentine della danzatrice che si trasforma nel suo stesso movimento, modella a spirale lo spazio e d'improvviso viene inghiottita dal sipario (fig. ). The article offers some reflections on the body-space relationship through images, graphic translations and visual studies that converge into a contemporary digital illuminated avant-garde of the fourth virtual dimension. Starting from the study of the Soviet coreutics of the 1920s and the biomechanics of multimedia performances, it moves on the cinesthetic suggestions and to the dance theorization integrated with the musical score. Finally, some contemporary forms of digital image production are taken into account by addressing a number of issues regarding the exploration of the object-image and its experiential re-elaboration through the production of new graphic knowledge.

This paper critically examines the ongoing debate over the legitimacy of visual arguments and proposes a resolution to this issue. Using  a type-theory framework, the legitimacy of visual arguments is addressed through two key sub-problems. First, the paper argues that visual arguments  exist, with their existence grounded in dynamic existentialism. Second, it contends that visual argumentation theory can expand argumentation theory in both descriptive and normative aspects. The paper advocates for a moderate defense of visual arguments, offering a stronger foundation for future research in the field.

The artwork did not contain anymore the source of a thesaurus signification. The recent cultural industries of cinema and photography carne to printing from images, the profane character of shapes, technically reproduced, imposing to them a commercial circuit, approaching the visual arts from the performing arts, turning them into mass communication. The visual arts follow the sarne path: ln it remains a carnal and organic link, vital, but his spirit is no longer essentialist, nor elitist, and is shaped by this profane culture, which is supported by the new technologies of image manipulation. Instead of looking for a universal aesthetic, art now roams through the convulsions of modem experience, pairing with the mass communication and staging the world of everyday objects, reusing the techniques of photography, advertising and graphic design.

Şahika Tekand’ın Studio Oyuncuları ekibi için yazıp yönettiği Ölüyor mu ne?, 28. İstanbul Tiyatro Festivali’nde prömiyerini yaptı. İnsanlar, tanrılar, “liminal”[1]olanlar ve sesli komutlar… Oyunun her anını yönlendiren komutlar, yalnızca sahnede ilerleyen bir düzenin değil, aynı zamanda tanrıların, insanların, doğanın, yapıların ve liminal olanların döngü içindeki konumlarının nelere tekabül ettiğine dair güçlü bir okuma sunuyor. Komutların siyasal, toplumsal, ekonomik, kültürel ilişkiler düzeninin kendisi olarak okunması, seyircinin tanrılarla, özellikle Zeus ile kurduğu ilişkiyi yeniden tanımlarken,  düzenin eleştirisine odaklanmasını sağlayan bir etken olarak düşünülebilir. Bir taraftan da “yönetmenin eli” olarak üçüncü karakter olan komutların seyirci için konumlandığı yer, bu alanda oyunun tüm anlamını değiştirebilecek bir potansiyele sahip.

This paper studies the influence of vlogger culture on YouTube tutorial videos, from the perspective of Digital Humanities (Manovich, 2011; Moretti, 2007). The sample studied consists of 300 video tutorials from 30 channels on different issues. Out of this sample selected, 41.33 % shows two distinct characteristics of vlogs (Aymar, 2009): a presenter on the screen who looks at the camera and speaks directly to the audience and the use of close up and medium close up shots. Our research focuses on the impact of adopting the stylistic attributes of vlogs in the interactions with the audience. We found that the “tutorial-vlogs” have more views, “likes” and comments than other tutorials, encouraging greater participation from users. Then we analyse the “emotional tone” of the audience conversation from a “distant reading” (Moretti, 2007) using visualization tools to see relationships between elements, patterns and shapes, instead of details. In 1969, Anselm Kiefer traveled through France and Italy and then published a series of photographs entitled "Besetzungen," or Occupations. These photographs depict the artist "occupying" different European sites, his right arm raised in the Hitler salute. 2 The series starts with Kiefer, shot from below as he stands on top of a government building, performing the Sieg Heil gesture, and ends with the artist facing the Baltic shore, his right arm again raised in the fascist "gesture of conquest." 3 We see Kiefer's back, and both setting and pose recall paintings by Caspar David Friedrich-not one of the mountain landscapes that Nazi artists copied with their granite quarries, but Friedrich's Wanderer above the Misty Sea (ca. 1818). This last shot of the series is preceded by two photographs of Kiefer-facing us as he stands first in front of the Colosseum, then inside (figure E.1). Mysticism in the City. Regarding the Book "Rivelazioni. Scritture di donne e per donne nell’Italia della prima età moderna" · The recent volume Rivelazioni. Scritture di donne e per donne nell’Italia della prima età moderna, edited by Erminia Ardissino and Elisabetta Selmi, compiles a series of studies that invite reflection on women’s writing between the Sixteenth and Eighteenth Centuries. The essays demonstrate the profound connection between the religious (particularly mystical) experiences of women and the cultural and social life of many Italian cities during the Early Modern period. Furthermore, the volume examines the complex and, at times, conflictual relationship between female mystics and contemporary political and ecclesiastical institutions. Lastly, several essays, which meticulously analyze numerous religious writings, highlight their close connections not only with the Bible and texts of the magisterium and theology but also with theater, lyrical poetry, visual arts and philosophy.

In recent years, studies have focused on exploring the use of colour in audio-visual language, which has mainly been approached from the context of cinematography. However, research related to colour as a communicative element in the visual narrative of video games is not yet consolidated, and there is a shortage of bibliographies related to this subject. This research investigated the identification of strategies for applying colour as a communicative and interactive element in the visual narrative of video games. The starting point was recognizing the role of colour in audio-visual language from various authors related to film studies, and the identification of main visual narrative strategies related to colour in cinematography. Then, using these strategies, an analysis was carried out on ten case studies of selected video games, in which colour is a fundamental element in the art direction. In each video game, the scenario, characters, and mechanics were analysed. The main results of the research indicated a general coherence between the ways of using colour as a communicative element in both media, cinema, and video games, through the identification of different applied techniques. However, the interactive nature of the video game differentiates it from cinema and implies additional complexities and possibilities for colour as a communicative resource, which can play a relevant role in the interaction with the player and the development of the narrative and plot.

This paper analyses the status and place of feminist and postmodern utopia of multiple identities in Serbian culture. Starting from a definition of cyborg as an utopian concept of the feminist thinking, given by Dona Haraway, the paper explors possible utopian aspects of the syntagma woman-writer that are based on constant change of gender identities and roles that the syntagma implies. The figure of female authorship in the context of neo-conservative spirit of the Serbian cultural market in transition is more than ever connected to the understanding and evaluation of the traditional concept and quality of &quot;the feminine&quot;. The figure of female authorship in Serbian culture is also based on flirting with different feminist strategies of representing, whether they ridicule or apparently support it. All this points to an urgent need of forming a serious stand about the studies of gender in this country and in the region

Este trabalho investiga imagens da Amazônia nas artes visuais, durante a década de 1970 no Brasil. Analisa-se obras que mencionam explicitamente a região, apresentando uma perspectiva crítica sobre os projetos de integração econômica da Amazônia – que nos anos 1970 culminou em polêmicas ambientalistas de alcance mundial. Busca-se vincular o surgimento dessas obras, de defesa da Amazônia, a uma conjuntura histórica específica e complexa, em que as preocupações ecológicas se voltam para o papel da Amazônia nas dinâmicas climáticas globais. Não obstante, ainda que todos estes trabalhos artísticos partilhem de uma postura política e ideológica de defesa da Amazônia, há um caráter ambíguo subjacente ao modo como muitos deles se referem à Amazônia, permutando com imagens conservadoras sobre a região, presentes nos discursos hegemônicos.

Este trabalho aborda a produção de imagens da Amazônia no campo artístico especializado, sobretudo na arte contemporânea, constituindo-se como um texto de crítica de arte. São analisados dois casos: a exposição Amazônia (2021), de Lúcia Gomes, realizada em Quatipuru (PA); e a publicação Amazônia, Ano Zero (2021), de Hugo do Nascimento. As maneiras como essas produções artísticas manejam imagens da Amazônia são interpretadas a partir da comparação com outras obras, artistas e referenciais teóricos.

Este ensaio busca investigar o termo arte amazônica enquanto conceito, operado desde o campo da arte especializada, cujo significado é fabricado e disputado pelos diversos atores sociais que o manejam. São abordados textos críticos e curatoriais que tratam da arte amazônica. Também são analisadas algumas relações da arte amazônica com as fabricações de uma identidade cultural amazônica. Por fim, são apresentadas propostas de compreensão das relações da arte amazônica com tendências artísticas e ideológicas de circulação local e/ou global.

Przygotowana przez Piotra Witka, Mariusza Mazura i Ewę Solską publikacja - Histo-ria w kulturze współczesnej. Niekonwencjonalne podejścia do przeszłości stanowi pierwsze w Polsce tak szerokie i wielowątkowe przedstawienie różnych form budowania i przekazywania wiedzy o przeszłości przede wszystkim w środowisku nowych mediów i technologii informacyjnych powstających poza nurtami tradycyjnej historii akademickiej. Znajdują się w niej rozważania dotyczące teorii i praktyki zarówno historii przedstawianej w filmie czy komiksie, jak i w muzeach, na portalach internetowych, w postaci gier komputerowych, a także w przedstawieniach teatru telewizji i w rekonstrukcjach historycznych. Ta ważna książka wskazuje na postępujący proces wypierania z przestrzeni społecznej historii pisanej, przez liczne i różnorodne niestandardowe podejścia do przeszłości. Pokazuje ona, że w epoce nowych mediów i kultury obrazu, tworzenie wiedzy o przeszłości jest efektem współpracy łączącej badania profesjonalnych historyków z wizjami artystów i umiejętnościami specjalistów od nowych mediów.

İnsanlar asırlar boyunca çeşitli nedenlerle yaşadıkları coğrafyaları terk edip yeni yerlere yerleşmişlerdir. Bu yüzden insanlık tarihi aynı zamanda göçlerin ve yer değiştirmelerin tarihi olmuştur. Bugün küresel ekonomik eşitsizlik, siyasi çatışmalar ve iklim değişiklikleri dünya genelinde göçü etkilemeye devam etmektedir. Birleşmiş Milletler Mülteciler Yüksek Komiserliği (UNHCR)’nin 2023 yılı verilerine göre son 70 yılda dünya çapında 110 milyon insan savaş, çatışma, şiddet ve insan hakları ihlalleri nedeniyle yerlerinden edilmiştir (unhcr.org, 2024). Dolayısıyla “göçmen beden” bugün çağımızın önemli bir öznesidir. Politikadan ekonomiye, sosyolojiden felsefeye kadar birçok disiplini etkileyen bu özne görsel kültür alanını dolayısıyla sanat alanını da etkilemiş ve son yıllarda bu konuda birçok imge üretilmiştir. Görsel kültürdeki temsiller, “biyopolitika”ların nesnesi haline getirilen bu bedenlerin yaşadığı deneyimleri anlamak ve bu deneyimleri doğru bir şekilde aktarmak için kritik bir öneme sahiptir. “Yerinden Edilen Bedenler: Görsel Kültürde Göç, Sürgün ve Mobilite” adlı bu tez çalışması Michel Foucault’nun “biyopolitika” kavramı bağlamında “yerinden edilen bedenler” in görsel kültürde hangi çerçeveler içinde temsil edildiklerini irdeleyip, bu çerçevelerin dışında alternatif temsillerin olanaklarını araştırmaktadır. Bu çalışmada disiplinler-arası bir alan olan görsel kültür çalışmalarının analiz yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Bunun için görünürlük rejimleri içinde “göçmen bedenlerin” ne kadar görünür olduğu ya da ne şekilde görünür olduğu ve yaşanılan olayların dolaşımda olan görüntülerle temsil edilip edilemediği gibi sorular sorulmuş ve bu sorular üzerinden yerinden edilme mevzularını ele alan görseller yorumlanmış; Türkiye’den ve dünyadan sanatçıların güncel sanat alanındaki üretimleri, sinema filmleri, belgeselleri ve fotoğrafları yine Türkiye ve dünyadan medya görselleri incelenmiştir.

Cilj je ovog rada kroz kulturnu geografiju pružiti novi pogled na pojmovne odrednice mjesta, prostora, spomen-mjesta, nemjesta i javnih prostora, koje se u danasnjem globalizacijskom i tranzicijskom drustvu sve vise preklapaju, otežavajuci tako jasnu klasifikaciju. Trgovacki centar, jednom tipican primjer Augeovog nemjesta, s popularizacijom kapitalizma i konzumerizma ulazi u sferu javnih događanja i iskoristavanja slobodnog vremena, cime stjece dodatne odrednice pogodne za analizu i istraživanje. Na primjeru Arene Centar Zagreb istražit ce se i predstaviti odrednice suvremenih trgovackih centara, u odnosu na one javnog prostora, mjesta i nemjesta.

Definition Christian contribution to education, literature, common language, music, art, and architecture in the NEI particularly among the tribals is remarkable indeed. A brief introduction of the NEI and the advent of Christianity to the region are provided to set the background of the study. Inhabited by people of different genetic stocks such as Australoid, Caucasoid, and Indo-Mongoloid, there are over 220 ethnic groups living in the region.

Marco Polo's "Stravedamento". An iconographic journey between history, myth, fiction. The relationship between the imaginary and the real in the story of Marco Polo and his famous book Il Milione is complex, blending rational and metaphysical elements. This ambiguity is echoed in other literary works, such as Calvino’s Invisible Cities and Eco’s Baudolino, where the protagonists navigate between reality and fantasy. In these works, the fantastical narrative style, filled with exaggerated and improbable details, becomes a means to access a deeper truth. Polo’s Devisement dou monde is similarly marked by an unstable identity, a hybrid of travelogue, mercantile manual, and geographical treatise. This textual instability has fueled its enduring fascination, as seen in the continued reinterpretation of Polo’s adventures through illustrations, maps, and cultural adaptations. The oscillation between the real and imaginary is a constant feature of his iconographic fortune, as evidenced by recent celebrations of Polo’s legacy. This paper explores contemporary examples of this dynamic, highlighting how the myth of Marco Polo persists in modern media.
