The districts with the official name of Carpathian regency (abbreviated Podkarpatsko), existing in the years 1939-1944, in terms of public organizations has stood out from the Hungarian legal system, which has been applied in other regions of the country. Broad-spectrum research focused on this specific region, successfully mapped many historical, legal, linguistic and political aspects of life in its territory. Un-explored space existing in research has been a survey regional history on level of local regulations. In this study we examine the directions, and particularly local content policy in the context of nationwide events. And also whether there existed areas of questions for which were born specific answers, in connection with that we shall try to find answer for question whether this specific position in Hungarian public administration was due to name only and part of life within this administrative unit, or its uniqueness had a deeper context.

The author's experience of emigration makes visible-in literary works and public speeches-one of the aspects of multilingualism as not only a consequence of migration and globalization, but also of the concept of metamultilingualism which contributes to expanding of our understanding of linguistic dynamics in literary production. Through selected literary texts and interviews with the Slovak-Swiss author Irena Brežná, the paper outlines the concept of metamultilingualism and literary multilingualism as one of the characteristics of the "new" world literature. Metamultilingualism as a generator of literary multilingualism is presented through the definition by Elke Sturm-Trigonakis and through its realisation in the form of linguistic commentary. The paper also takes a look at the reflection of languages in I. Brežná's writing as one of the frameworks of her work and a part of the literary process. At the same time, it looks at the concept of monolingualism as an artificial construct and multilingualism as a natural social condition as outlined in the theory of Yasemina Yildiz and Till Dembeck. In the analysis of the internal plane of the text, the article relies on the concept of manifest, latent, and excluded multilingualism, systematically elaborated by Natalia Blum-Barth, who, like Immacolata Amode, sees multilingualism as intratextual.

Circumstances, which could have decided about placing of dead into the settlement features, are evaluated in the study. Their assessment is based on the sites with greater amount of features, with several individuals in their filling and with preserved proofs of violent downfall of this settlement. It is possible to ascribe main portion of untraditional inhumation to various manifestations of unusual death recalled by violence which accompanied fighting actions according to this. These circumstances contributed to the considerable marginalisation of original social status of individuals. Proscribed individuals were laid into the inferior space of settlement features as a consequence of this events. Their bodies were arranged in the flexed position, prone position, their anatomical position was disturbed by intentional intervention on behalf of protection of local community from their negative influence.

Podľa nich boli popisované zákroky vykonávané u jedincov-revenantov, ktorí mohli po smrti rôznym spôsobom poškodzovať zdravie, úspešnosť v hospodárskej činnosti a ďalšie významné sféry života pozostalých. Dôvody k takýmto zákrokom mohli prameniť nielen z nedostatkov, ku ktorým došlo pri pohrebných obradoch, ale aj nesplnením záväzkov zomrelých či neobvyklým spôsobom úmrtia.

At the same time, the article briefly outlines theoretical definitions of the concept of the literary samizdat as used in Central and Eastern European context, taking especially into account the specific character of Slovak literary samizdat.
During the period 1782-1900, artificial meander cutoffs were the most important interferences to the lower Váh River channel. For the study of this phenomenon, we used historic map data sources, such as 1 st – 3 rd military survey of Habsburg Empire, old cadastral, local and regional maps. In the investigated segment of Váh river on Podunajská nížina lowland (stretch between towns Sereď and Komárno), we identified 27 artificial meander cutoffs in total, from which five were already realised during the 18 th century. Some of them were even cut repeatedly. Due to artificial meander cutoffs not only channel shortening and decrease in sinuosity took place, but probably also an increase in channel slope and incision, leading to subsequent narrowing of the channel. The aim of the work is to evaluate chronologically the most important channel alterations to the lower Váh river channel before the end of the 19 th century using historic maps.

Nine settlement features were investigated at the Orechový sad location in the cadastral zone of Mužla-Čenkov (Nové Zámky district) in 1989. These included sunken features with a tongue-shaped entrance, four grain storage pits and three storage pits situated 3-8 m from one another on the bank of the Danube. The features make up a part of a settlement segment from the first half of the 17th century. Their chronological classification was contributed to by sparse fragments of ceramic vessels, shoe heel tips and fragments of cannonballs. The analysis of the collection elucidated the importance of the segment for the location, the reasons behind its origin and violent decline, as well as the occurrence of militaria in the farming environment.

Methodius and Their Reflection in the Landscape of Slovakia. The formation of the Cyrillo-Methodian tradition in our history has an impact on the cultural landscape. The aim of the paper is a spatial identification of the cult of Sts. Cyril and Methodius as well as the study of its impact on the landscape of Slovakia. The first step is to identify tangible and intangible features, or, more precisely, cultural landscape elements. In Slovakia, we register in connection with Sts. Cyril and Methodius more than 120 sacral objects (churches, chapels, exterior sculptures). These, together with profane objects (schools, medical facilities) and intangible elements (e.g. street names, squares, organized events), are involved in the transformation of cultural, or, more precisely, religious landscape. The largest number of sacral objects arose after 1989, in the process of modern sacralisation of the landscape, which is typical of countries with renewed religious freedom.

Katedra politológie a euroázijských štúdií, FF UKF; Ústav politických vied SAV; Ústav medzinárodných vzťahov, Praha, Ústav európskych štúdií a medzinárodných vzťahov FSEV UK On the Discussion between the Czech Media Mainstream and its Leftist Alternative from the Perspective of the Left. This paper deals with the quality and the character of the interaction between actors in the Czech media sphere. The research fills the research gap by addressing the specific interaction of ideological opponents between journalists. The analysis begins with a quantitative finding that whereas the alternative media left publishes reactions to the mainstream media in its own media outlets, it does not publish them in the mainstream and the mainstream does not react to the leftist alternative. The factors that contribute to this one-sidedness according to the authors of the collected reactions include the lack of interest to publish opinion reactions on the side of the mainstream, the expectation of this lack on the side of the alternative, easier communication with the alternative leftist outlets, and a lack of space for reactions in the mainstream. The impact of such a disruption in one form of the public debate is according to the alternative left the building of opinion bubbles and a general threat to the democratic public discussion.

The activity of both saints, Constantine-Cyril and Gregory of Nazianzus, is characterized by several similarities (love for education, inclination towards spiritual life, longing for solitude) that may have been influenced by Constantine’s selection of Gregory as a special patron. The study is based on the hypothesis that not only Gregory’s panegyrics and his autobiographical poem De vita sua but also a wider spectrum of Nazianzen’s poetic works influenced Constantine. It shows some selected Gregory’s verses reflected in the life and works of St. Constantine.

The treatise of Saint Augustine, bishop of Hippo, intituled De bono coniugali presents the unique dogmatist and at the same time moralistic view on the topic of marriage, which did not have, at the time, the analogy in the patristic literature. In this paper we focus on the Saint Augustine’s apology of the marriage. In centre of our interest will be the moral principles of the married couples issued from the main characteristic rudiments of the marriage defined by our bishop of Hippo that are used in the catholic Church almost without any changes also in nowadays. The marriage as the union of man and woman was from the beginning viewed as the base of the human society of any religion. Also the pagan Rome esteemed a lot the family and the spouses procreating and raising the children for the fatherland. The Christianity brings to the marriage the new aspect by giving to it the character of the sanctity and inviolability. The marriages were united with the goal of the procreation of the legitimate offspring but its absence, according Saint Augustine, did not make the obstacle of the sanctity and the purpose of the marriage. The Church in the confrontation with the pagan customs and traditions, or the sinful concupiscence of the man, well maintained the observation of the sacrament of the marriage, which provides with the new content. That is why the marriage became the sacred union based on the norm of the inviolability, the equality of both spouses, the procreation of the offspring and mutual fidelity. By theses rules the Church helped the women to gain the more dignify position in the society than it given by the roman legislative.

consider particularly a personal contact, which is a bridge to other activities, the most efficient method of work. Implications: The clergymen of all churches should be servants of all people. If we want to achieve a social change in the marginalized groups of population it is necessary for clergymen to come out of their zone of conformity and be closer to vulnerable people. Working with youth but particularly with whole families can result in big changes. Such work, however, must be regular, and particularly personal contacts in the field is the basis of a future change. Occasional contacts solely in the church or parsonage are not efficient.

Selected environmental contexts of changes in the historical landscape with scattered settlement (the example of the village of Hrušov, Veľký Krtíš district) Using the example of the cadastral territory of the Hrušov village, we identified and interpreted changes in the land cover (LC), land diversity (LD) and road network in 1950 and 2010 in relation to the scattered settlement system. The LC and LD changes were identified on three spatially different levels: in the whole cadastral area, in the natural landscape units and in 20 circular areas. Landscape diversity was evaluated by using the Shannon diversity index. The scattered settlements system, by its origin and unique functioning in Slovakia, conditioned some anomalies in LC development which are typical for marginal regions and/or areas with such a type of settlementsdelayed, incomplete or no collectivization of agriculture. On the other hand, the retreat and partial extinction of scattered settlements resulted in changes in LC, whose intensity exceeded the values typical in the wider region.
