Background: Working pregnant women often need to adjust their physically demanding jobs for a healthy pregnancy. However, uncertainty about the extent of these adjustments can hinder their effectiveness. To address this, we developed the Job Adjustment mobile app, which allows users to input job and health details to generate a variety of personalized action plans. As this is the first version of the app, assessing its feasibility and usability is crucial. Objective: This study aims to verify the feasibility and usability of the Job Adjustment mobile app. Methods: A longitudinal observational study was conducted on pregnant Japanese women who were allowed to use the app anytime from 12 to 34 weeks of gestation; they received reminder emails every 2 weeks encouraging app use. A questionnaire was administered before app use and at 20 and 32 weeks of gestation. Feasibility was evaluated across 4 domains: implementation, demand, acceptability, and adverse events. Implementation was evaluated based on 3 parameters: dropout rate, initial reminder email receipt rate, and adherence rate (measured as pregnant women who used the app at intervals of 2.5 weeks or less). Demand was measured by intervals between use and intervals between log-in, and participants answered 15 questions to assess acceptability. Adverse events were assessed by analyzing the degree of anxiety related to work. Demographic data were analyzed to determine any statistically significant differences in intervals between uses. Usability was evaluated using the System Usability Scale. The analysis included 66 pregnant women, and 61% (n=40) of them were multipara. The dropout rate, adherence rate, and initial reminder email receipt rate were 18% (13/71), 44% (29/66), and 79% (52/66) respectively. The median intervals between use and intervals between log-in were 2.94 (IQR 2.00-5.13) weeks and 2.28 (IQR 1.81-4.00) weeks, respectively. Overall, 60% (35/58) to 90% (52/58) of the participants responded positively to all 15 questions assessing acceptability, and no anxiety regarding work was recorded. The mean System Usability Scale score was 66.1 points. Multipara women had significantly longer intervals between app use compared to primipara women (P=.01). The results demonstrated acceptable levels of feasibility and usability of the app. However, the low adherence rates, especially among multipara women, suggest the need for modifications to reduce the time burden of the app. Further research should explore more effective and acceptable intervals between use and timing, involving a larger sample and accounting for diverse characteristics of pregnant women.

This study aims to determine the management of athletes with disabilities in sitting volleyball. The research method used is an interpretive study research on the Coaching Activities of Athletes with Disabilities in the Indonesian National Pelatnas Volleyball Sports Branch in Surakarta. The population of this study were athletes, coaches and administrators of the Indonesian NPC. The data collection techniques used by the researcher are active observation, interviews, and documentation analysis. This study examines the effect of psycho-social factors on the wellness status of football coaches and players in Calabar, Cross River State. To achieve the objectives of this study, two research hypotheses were raised to serve as a guide to the study. The descriptive survey research method was adopted for the study. A total of forty (40) respondents were randomly selected for the study. The selection was done through fish bowl method of sampling technique. A questionnaire was designed by the researchers with the help of some measurement and evaluation experts that gave its content and face validation. The combination of an athlete's physical, mental, technical, tactical, psychological, and social attributes determines how well they perform in sports. Each separate facet of sports performance includes multiple subcategories, some of which are based on physical certainty and others of which tend to be very changeable. The most complete and representative of those parts of the performance that require the most concentration and preparation time, mental health is one of the factors that affect sports performance. Sports performance and mental wellness are closely related. With the decisions of Naomi Osaka, Simone Biles, and Ben Stokes to withdraw from their respective competitions to put their mental health first, worries about the mental health of athletes have recently gained attention. In this review article, we investigated and analyzed recent data about the mental health of sports persons. To gather as much as possible scientific data we used Google Scholar and Google search engine. As selection criteria for scientific articles, we collected keywords such as mental health, stress, anxiety, depression, yoga, and performance. This review article shows that the athlete's capacity to perform at their best can be significantly enhanced by having strong mental health.

Aim of our research was to conduct a clinical and laboratory analysis of the impact of COVID-19 on pregnancy and the condition of the fetus. Materials and Methods: At the first stage, we conducted a retrospective examination of 50 pregnant women treated at Ternopil Municipal Hospital No.2 (Ukraine) between November 2020 and January 2022 with the history of COVID-19, confirmed by PCR test, and 25 pregnant COVID-19 negative pregnant women (control group). At the second stage, we performed prospective cohort study and involved 40 pregnant women treated with the history of COVID-19, confirmed by PCR, and 10 pregnant COVID-19 negative women with a physiological course of pregnancy as a control group.Women were divided into the following groups: group I -10 women diagnosed with COVID-19 during the first trimester of pregnancy: group II-15 women diagnosed during the second trimester; group III-15 women diagnosed during the third trimester. Ultrasound examination and cardiotocograms were performed to assess fetus status. Blood samples were collected at delivery. To determine whether COVID-19 could alter placental angiogenesis, vascular endothelial growth factor A (VEGFA), PlGF and interleuin-32-α were assessed. results: We identified that concentration of VEGFA was 95.30±5.65 pg/ml in control group. In women who had COVID-19 in first trimester, this index was 1.3 times higher, in second trimester 1.63 times higher and in third trimester by 2 times compared to control group. PlGF concentration was only 27,4 percent in group I, 16 percent in group II and 30 percent in group III,compared to control group. Concentration of interleuin-32-α was 67.27±5.63 pg/ml in control group and increased to 167 percent in group I, by 2.8 times in group II and by 6.3 times in group III compared to control group. conclusions: COVID-19 has a negative impact on placental angiogenesis, including VEGFA and PlGF. Fetal post-COVID-19 syndrome requires timely diagnosis of disorders and further study. This study explores positive emotions in the context of students, focusing on the constructive impact of pride. The research aims to enhance the practical understanding of positive emotions centered around the broaden and build theory. Additionally, based on social learning theory, the article examines the moderating role of teacher-student relationship (TSR) to identify the association between psychological capital (PsyCap) and students' outcomes. To analyze the effects of pride on students' outcomes, PsyCap is introduced as a mediating mechanism, elucidating its influence on the relationship between pride and academic performance and engagement. Data from 328 students in diverse universities in Pakistan support our model, and the findings reveal a positive correlation between pride and academic performance and engagement. Moreover, TSR moderates the link between PsyCap and academic performance and student engagement. The positive association between PsyCap and academic performance and engagement strengthens when TSR is strong. This study contributes to the existing literature by highlighting the significance of positive emotions, particularly pride, in the academic context. The implications extend to theoretical and practical realms, providing insights into cultivating positive emotions and fostering a strong TSR. However, acknowledging study limitations, future research directions are required to address them.

Reward systems are significant organisational management tools for acquiring, retaining, and motivating potential employees and for attaining higher levels of performance. The primary goal of this research is to explore the impact of reward system on academic staff engagement and organisational performance in selected Technical Universities (TUs) in Ghana. To achieve the objective, data was collected using Google Forms from 315 academic staff working at 5 selected TUs. Afterwards, it was gathered in SMART PLS (SEM) and analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. The findings revealed that (i) Academic Staff Engagement (ASE) has a significant positive effect on Reward System (RS), (ii) RS has a significant positive effect on Organisational Performance (OP), (iii) ASE influences OP, and (iv) RS significantly mediates the relationship between ASE and OP. Therefore, the findings suggested that the organisational reward system and academic staff engagement are critical human resource factors for improving the performance of the technical institutions. The outcome of this research calls for the policy makers and the TUs management to consider reward system and academic staff engagement programs as tools for driving institutional performance. The study also contributes significantly to the knowledge and the application of ASE, RS, and OP in theory and practice in the context of higher education institutions.

The present study aimed to develop and test a brief training program on LGB competencies for counselors and clinical psychologists (N=20). Pre-and post-training assessment of LGBT competencies were conducted though a written case vignette, and in addition a focus group at 2-months follow up of training was conducted. Results revealed that (1) quantitative and qualitative changes occurred in the ability of participants in responding to a case between pre-and post-training and that (2) reported changes included impacts on personal and social lives of the clinicians at follow-up, beyond clinical practice. However, subtle pathologization was also found and increased needs for supervision on LGB-related issues.

The purpose of the current study was to examine the use whether, were, when and why soccer players used self-talk, imagery, goal setting and relaxation. Semi-structure, in-depth, qualitative interviews were conducted with 16 elite soccer players from Portuguese premier league soccer teams that played regularly in UEFA champions and Europe leagues. Results demonstrated that participants employed self-talk, goal-setting, and imagery with several purposes in their soccer routines. On the other hand, participants highlighted a lack of use of relaxation. In addition, results showed that the use of psychological techniques was lower in training than competition setting. Implications of the results are discussed and future research and practical recommendations are suggested.

This study sought to analyse self-reported perceptions of how the nature of sport activities undertaken by volleyball players aided their development. Thirty highly skilled and thirty less skilled players participated in retrospective interviews to identify the nature of activities undertaken in their developmental pathways. All players reported having an early-diversified sport involvement with participation in both structured and unstructured activities. Highly skilled players differed from less skilled players by having accumulated more hours experience in structured sport activities, some of which were undertaken with older peers. Furthermore, highly skilled players specifically highlighted the value of their involvement in particular unstructured activities with older peers and recognized their importance for expertise achievement. These findings illustrate the importance of considering the role of unstructured (in addition to structured) sport activities in the development of expertise in volleyball. Further work is needed to verify the generality of the findings to other sports.

The focus of this empirical study is to examine the interceding effect of Perceived Organizational Support (POS) between Emotional Intelligence (EI) and Job Satisfaction (JS). For this purpose, random data of 300 respondents was collected from primary public schools of four districts of Punjab, Pakistan i.e. Lahore, Sahiwal, Okara and Nankana Sahib through selfadministrative questionnaires. The time legged approach is used in collection of data to decrease self-biasness of responses. Sequential Equation modeling is applied to test the effectiveness and fitness of model. The results of the study suggest that job satisfaction is positively affected by emotional intelligence Perceived Organizational Support (POS) also influences the relationship between emotional intelligence and job satisfaction. Practical implications and future directions are also provided.

In the field of work and organizational psychology, verbal questionnaires provide a solid and valid foundation for the assessment of working conditions and employees’ attitudes. In the view of practitioners, these instruments are often too long, requiring a lot of time to complete, and employees might resist the invitation to participate in frequent surveys. To address these drawbacks, we present an alternative approach and describe the development of pictorial scales for the assessment of work intensity. Pictorial scales provide a simple and inviting format for the assessment of work intensity, and therefore, are a suitable instrument for practice-oriented formats such as interviews or workshops. Moreover, pictorial scales have advantages in repeated assessments such as in diary studies.

In order to avoid that many senior citizens with Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI) could become chronic patients with a low level of functioning in many cognitive, behavioral and emotional domains, some technological solutions have been improved to better enhance less compromised healthy lifestyle, providing real-time clinically-based suggestions and reducing some dysfunctional behaviors. Moreover another critical problem is the overweight and obesity that can affect many people in Western but also Eastern regions. In order to cope with MCI and obesity, mhealth monitor-ing solutions (smart-watches based and wearable based) have been devel-oped. The major aim of this paper is to show the rationale behind the SENIOR Project, a Cariplo funded project that will develop and deliver wearable monitoring solutions with tailored nudging feedbacks for patients with obesity an MCI. Background Behaviour change interventions targeting physical activity, diet, sleep and sedentary behaviour of teenagers show promise when delivered through smartphones. However, to date there is no evidence of effectiveness of multicomponent smartphone-based interventions. Utilising a user-centred design approach, we developed a theory-based, multi-dimensional system, PEGASO Fit For Future (PEGASO F4F), which exploits sophisticated game mechanics involving smartphone applications, a smartphone game and activity sensors to motivate teenagers to take an active role in adopting and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. The relevance of the topic presented because now an important condition for improving the effectiveness of educational and training process and competitive activities in all sports, including martial arts, is the development and implementation of technologies to optimize these processes. The use of yoga elements allows to increase the efficiency of the process of preparing athletes for competitions, helps to form the mood for a fight, allows an athlete to form the skills of self-control. The aim of this research is to theoretically and practically justify the possibility and expediency of using elements of yoga in the training process of martial arts. The article deals with the possibility of applying elements of yoga in the process of technical, tactical, physical and psychological training of athletes specializing in martial arts. The materials may be used to improve the quality of educational and training process and the effectiveness of competitive activities in martial arts.

The study examined the effect of Compensation Management on employee performance in the Manufacturing Industry, specifically with a focus on Flight Aluminium Plc in Asaba Delta State, Nigeria. The specific objective of the study is to ascertain two measures of Compensation Management namely; Salary (SLY), and Benefits Programmes (BP), and how they affect employee performance in the Manufacturing Industry. The study employed a descriptive survey research design. The sample size is 75 respondents, this was determined using the purposive sampling technique. The study made use of the Likert scale of point 5 is used for the closedended questions to draw responses from the respondents. A total of seventy-five (75) questionnaires were administered by staff of Flight Aluminium Plc in Asaba, Delta State. Out of the seventy-five (75) questionnaires, (73)97.33% were retrieved and properly filled while two (2)2.67% were not returned. Thus, the sample to be used for the study was used in the range of seventy-three (73) respondents. Data presented and analysed in this study is dichotomized into three parts. First is the data presentation which comprises the descriptive analysis of the respondent's profile using simple weighted percentages, Second, the descriptive statistics of data obtained from the questionnaire using minimum, maximum, mean, and standard deviation the Pearson correlation analysis would be used as a basis of testing the hypothesis. The findings revealed that both independent variables (Salary (SLY) and Benefits Programmes (BP), have a significant relationship with employee performance in the Manufacturing Industry. The study recommended that the company should continue providing security benefits to all employees, their position notwithstanding as it will positively influence employee productivity and raise overall performance in the manufacturing sector.

This article describes a program of research investigating the relations between abilities required to perform job tasks and human error probabilities while performing these tasks. Study 1, using objectively derived human errors made in performing Air Force job tasks, evaluated an ability-requirements classification methodology and found that error rates were related to the numbers, types, and levels of different abilities required. In Study 2, subject matter expert panels used the methodology to identify the ability requirements of tasks in 2 different jobs found in each of 2 types of nuclear power plants. This study, using a task-anchored scale of human error probability, replicated the findings of Study 1, identified 2 ability requirements that cross-validated in predicting task-error probabilities across both jobs and plants, and identified other abilities specific to error probabilities in each job. It is well established that human error plays a major role in the malfunctioning of complex technological systems and in accidents associated with their operation. Meister (1962), for example, indicated that some 20-50% of all equipment failures are due to human error. With respect to nuclear power plant settings, the National Research Council (1986) specifically noted that human error is a significant contributor to plant risk, and others (e.g., Reason, 1990; Skof, 1990; Sun, 1988) have indicated that the well-publicized incidents at Three-Mile Island and Chernobyl have been attributed, in large measure, to human error. This paper presents Winkelhuis' Nine Step Connection Model, which enables dancers to achieve the optimal levels of relaxation, concentration and connection with the partner. By using The Model, dancers can lower their stress levels and have better time management in between dances, which contributes to the quality of their performance on competitions.

Purpose: This study aims to examine students’ perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, behavioral intentions, and attitudes toward the use of Wakelet as an interactive digital platform for teaching and learning (T&L) in Front Office modules. Research methodology: The sample of respondents was composed of twenty-four Front Office students enrolled in the Hotel Operation program, and the research instrument was a questionnaire based on the Technological Acceptance Model. Results: The findings indicate that the majority of respondents accept the use of Wakelet as an interactive digital platform for T&L in Front Office modules, and Wakelet is also easy to use. Additionally, respondents' attitudes were positive toward the use of Wakelet, and students' behavioral intentions towards the use of Wakelet were also at a high level. This study explored the reliability and validity of the Spiritual Intelligence Self-Report Inventory (SISRI) designed by when administered to students enrolled secondary education in Mashhad, Iran. To this end, the Persian version of the SISRI was administered to 344female grade three senior high school (G3SHS) students majoring in humanities, sciences, and mathematics. The subjection of the collected data to Principal Axis Factoring and rotating the extracted factors via Varimax with Kaiser Normalization. We found seven latent variables whose initial eigenvalues were one and higher, i.e., Purposive, Transcending, Contemplative, Meta-conscious, Theo-meditative, Theorizing, and Visionary. The inventory itself along with its Purposive, Transcending and Meta-conscious factors was found to be reliable. Since Contemplative, Theo-meditative, Theorizing and Visionary factors consisted of just one statement, their reliability could not be estimated. These four factors did, however, correlate significantly not only with each other but also with Purposive, Transcending and Meta-conscious dimension of spiritual intelligence. The results are discussed in terms of schema theory and suggestions are made for future research.

A metaphor is a transfer of meaning from one element to another or a transfer of words with the same meaning, which can also be considered a paraphrase. In this context, it serves as a figurative expression containing an implicit comparison that conveys an idea through an alternative explanation across various aspects, situations, and processes in an individual's daily life. In group counseling, the metaphor technique is a counseling process that uses storytelling as a medium of communication between the counselor and the client to fulfill the client's goals and needs. This study aims to analyze the application of metaphor techniques in group counseling and their effectiveness in enhancing clients' understanding and psychological well-being. The research method used is a qualitative approach with a literature review, which includes an analysis of various scientific sources related to metaphor techniques in group counseling. The findings indicate that metaphor techniques help clients understand situations more easily, increase emotional engagement, and enrich perspectives in problem-solving. Therefore, metaphor techniques can be an effective strategy in group counseling to support clients' psychological and emotional development.

Job satisfaction is a positive emotional condition as a result of job appraisal. Spirituality possessed by a doctor is an inner condition that grows because it interprets work in his life. This study aims to examine and explain the relationship between job satisfaction and physician performance, which is moderated by spirituality. From the questionnaires that were distributed, a total of 150 respondents were obtained consisting of general practitioners (71 people), doctors with Masters degrees (65 people), specialist doctors (9 people) and doctors with Doctoral education as many as 5 people. The doctors have worked for < 5 years (63 people), 5-10 years (32 people), 10-20 years (31 people) and > 20 years (24 people). The results of the analysis obtained data that job satisfaction has a positive significant effect on the performance of doctors (P = 0.000). Spirituality has a positive significant effect on doctors' performance with a significance level of P=0.000. However, spirituality as a moderating variable has a negative effect, which means it reduces the effect of job satisfaction on performance. The spirituality factor reduces job satisfaction. It can be logically explained that job satisfaction is not solely a determinant of performance. Spirituality reflects the vocation of dedication as a doctor who has special knowledge to help human health and humanity. Spiritually, working doctors do not pursue job satisfaction merely, but there is a spirituality of dedication that aims to help save the souls of fellow human beings.

Objectives To develop a valid and reliable instrument to assess caregiver burden in caregivers of children with cerebral palsy (CP). Methods A self-administered, multidimensional instrument -Caregiver Difficulties Scale (CDS) -was developed using a combined qualitative-quantitative approach. Items for the preliminary draft were selected from existing caregiver assessment instruments by consensus of experts or key informant interviews with caregivers and service providers of children with CP. Standard item reduction techniques based on responses of 50 caregivers were used to develop the 25 item final draft of CDS. Multidimensionality of CDS was established by exploratory factor analysis, using responses of 125 caregivers. Construct validity of CDS was confirmed by assessing correlations between CDS score and two other constructs: 'Caregiver quality of life' and 'Severity of disease in the care recipient' in a sample of 90 caregivers. Internal consistency and reliability of CDS were assessed using Cronbach's alpha and testretest reliability. Results A new instrument (CDS) was developed with four subscales measuring caregiver's concerns for child, impact on self, support for caregiving and social and economic strain. This study examines teachers' entrepreneurial characteristics, either in terms of actions and efforts they have already carried out, or in terms of intentions and opinions they have regarding undertaking business initiatives. The research purpose is to examine whether certain stereotypical gender characteristics are connected with entrepreneurial intentions. A mixed method of data collection was applied to conduct the research. Specifically, 75 teachers (in-service, pre-service and graduates of pedagogic departments) filled out a questionnaire containing a combination of items from the Entrepreneurial Intentions Questionnaire, International Personality Item Pool, Human Values Scale, status-seeking, perceived masculinity and the Organizational Collectivism Scale. Furthermore, 8 teachers participated in semi-structured interviews. Theory of Planned Behaviour was used as a broad guideline for the interview scheme, suggesting that the intention to form a specific behaviour is influenced by three main factors: subjective norm, perceived behavioural control, and attitude towards the behaviour. The data analysis consists of descriptive statistics of the sample and the measured constructs and a calculation of the participant's intentions to create a new firm, the t-test analysis, the correlational analysis and a linear regression analysis. The results showed a strong interest among teachers in entrepreneurship, with several of those surveyed having tried their hand at it. However, due to the country's legal framework, government employment is still the only way of employment for most of them. Concluding it can be stated that status-seeking and risk-taking do have an influence on an individual's decision to realize entrepreneurial intentions.

The practice of using halal cosmetics involves the intentional involvement of individuals, groups, or organizations in acquiring and using cosmetics that have obtained a halal certification. The behavior of individuals is subject to influence by multiple factors, including attitudes, subjective norms, behavioral control, and intention to use. These factors are motivated by the desires and needs of the individual. Structural change is defined as the shift of resources from primary sectors to those boasting high value-added. If productivity elevates owing to structural change, then economic growth becomes more vigorous and steadier. This study's goal is to examine structural change and the sources of labor productivity evolution in selected African countries from 1990 to 2018. Therefore, the Shift-Share Analysis method was employed in the study. The results indicated that the transition of competent labor to industries with higher productivity coupled with investments in fundamentals that promote physical and human capital, innovative practices, and infrastructure, are vital for increasing productivity. For policymakers, both internal productivity improveme nts and structural transformation need to coexist harmoniously.

The purpose of this study was to develop a scale for measuring the service quality in sport scientific journals. A mixed approach was conducted to fulfill the research objectives. In qualitative phase 15 sport paper writer were interviewed and in quantitative phase, 357 sport researchers were studied through systematic random sampling. Performance appraisal research has recently focused on the role of the rater and on the cognitive processing underlying the appraisal judgment task. Although recent appraisal models basically propose that the human information processing involved is schematic in nature, much of the support for this approach comes from social psychological findings concerning person judgments. The present study is an attempt to investigate the operation of schematic processes in the form of implicit personality theories related to performance judgments. Performance and trait ratings made by 200 management students of college professor vignettes were found to be influenced by the behaviors depicted in the vignettes, but the pattern of results also supported the operation of implicit personality theory in performance appraisal, even when ratee descriptions were artificially limited to contain information that was solely behavioral in nature. Performance appraisals, typically subjective ratings, serve as input to a variety of human resource activities, including training and development, the distribution of organizational rewards, predictor validation, and the decision making associated with promotions, demotions, transfers, and terminations. Given these multiple uses, the potential benefits (costs) associated with an effective (ineffective) appraisal system are substantial . Exergames are electronic games that integrate elements of physical exercise with gaming technology, utilizing motion sensors, cameras, and other devices to track the player's movements and translate them into the virtual environment of the game. Frequently, these games are employed in contexts such as rehabilitation, physical training, and health promotion, particularly for populations such as the older adults, children, and individuals seeking more dynamic and motivating exercise options. The objective of this article was to conduct a scoping review to investigate the effects of exergames on cognitive capacity and balance in older adults. The literature search was conducted in the PubMed, LILACS, and Scopus databases in May 2023. Most studies highlighted positive results, demonstrating improvements in cognitive capacity, balance, muscle strength, functional mobility, and even a reduction in the risk of falls in older adults. However, it is important to consider factors such as usability, safety, and specific characteristics of the target population.

This study sought to examine the coping strategies used by undergraduate students to manage social anxiety in Zanzibar Universities. The study used descriptive cross-sectional design which was complimented by a mixed method approach. But in this objective only qualitative method was applied. propulsive sampling was used to obtain 20 respondents who were used to collect qualitative data. In addition to that, qualitative data was obtained through semi-structured interviews from three key informants. Upon accrual, qualitative data was analyzed by using content analysis process, thus, data was prepared and organized upon collection, data was then reviewed by the researcher, the researcher then created initial codes that were combined into themes, and lastly themes were presented in a cohesive manner as quotations. the findings of the study revealed that both adaptive and maladaptive coping strategies are used by Zanzibar undergraduate students in dealing with social anxiety. Adaptive coping mechanism used are: seeking counseling services available in university, managing negative thoughts, and emotion, facing one`s fear by taking risks while other students used maladaptive method such as isolation behaviors, substance abuse and avoidance of academic setting. The study concluded that social anxiety is highly prevalent among university students in Zanzibar and students are struggling with different coping mechanism which other affect their academic performance. Therefore, it was recommended as per findings that among others, instructors should be capacitated to identify and refer social phobic students for therapy.

Leaders typically flounder not because they lack technical skills or knowledge of the job, but rather because they have a competence deficit. Competencies work best when they become deeply ingrained in both the values of the organisation and in the performance that is expected of individuals. Motivating athletes is considered an important competency in coaching practice. There is a strong need for research on the role of mentoring and coaching in supporting the holistic well-being and ongoing development of athletes. This study examined coaches' perception of their motivation and mentoring skills for professional practice in Benue State. The research design that was adopted for this study was survey research design. The Population of the study consisted of all the coaches of Benue State Sports Council Makurdi. The sample comprised one hundred and sixty two (162) coaches of Benue State Sports Council who were purposively selected for the study. The questionnaire titled (CPMMSPP) developed by the researcher was used for data collection in this study. The independent sample t-test was used to find out gender, and work experience differences in motivation and mentoring skills among coaches. The analysis of variance (ANOVA) was used to analyse age and level of education differences in motivation and mentoring skills among coaches. All the analyses were conducted using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS version 23) at 0.05 level of significance. Coaches were competent in motivating athletes and possessed good mentoring skills. There was no significant difference in the mean ratings of coach's competences in Benue State relating to motivation as perceived by gender, age, education and years of experience (p>0.05). There was no significant difference in the mean ratings by gender, age and years of experience of coaches in Benue State on training needs relating to coaching and mentoring skills (p>0.05). However, coaches differed significantly on their mentoring skills based on their level of education. Coaches perceived themselves as competent in motivating athletes. Coaches also possessed adequate coaching and mentoring skills for professional practice in Benue State. (10)

Evaluating the effectiveness of health care and interventions depends on an accurate measurement, which shows the necessity of applying certain criteria for selecting an appropriate instrument. The aim of this paper was to determine the index for selecting an appropriate instrument to conduct research in health sciences. Materials & Methods: In this review study, data were collected during 1990 till 2014 through review of Persian and English literature and purposive search for relevant index needed for selecting an appropriate instrument to conduct research in health sciences, and the most important psychometric properties of these instruments in books, articles, and databases by using the keywords: COSMIN checklist, measurement properties, psychometrics properties, diseasespecific questionnaires, health status scales, health related questionnaires, psychometrics and quality criteria. Findings: After reviewing relevant literature, 9 articles were appropriate for COSMIN as well as 24 other articles which were suitable for the most important psychometric properties of instruments. The results of this study are presented in two sections. First, the COSMIN checklist is introduced. Next, the index related to determining the psychometric properties of the instrument, i.e. validity, reliability and responsiveness are explained. COSMIN checklist is an appropriate guide that facilitates the selection of a suitable instrument for researchers by providing logical index. Therefore, study results can be trusted with more confidence. The use of COSMIN Checklist in conducting research and reviewing articles in health science is recommended.

Introduction This study aimed to translate and assess the psychometric properties of the Persian version of the “Safety Attitude Questionnaire” in the NICUs. Methods In this psychometric study, the “Safety Attitude Questionnaire” was translated into Persian. Then this version was used for psychometric evaluation. For this purpose, the qualitative face, content validity and construct validity were performed by confirmatory factor analysis. Internal consistency and stability reliability were calculated. Data were analyzed using SPSS and AMOS software. Results Face validity was also performed with a slight change in four items. The factor structure of the tool was determined by confirmatory factor analysis. Fit indices were appropriate. Internal consistency reliability in the whole questionnaire was 0.65 and the stability reliability was calculated to be 0.64. Discussion and conclusion “Safety Attitude Questionnaire” has appropriate psychometric properties and can be used in NICUs.

The present study investigated self-reported distraction-related collisions and near-misses, both as a driver and a passenger. Data were gathered from 426 semi-structured interviews and the results were weighted according to the distribution of driver licences among city residents, by gender and age group (18-24, 25-44, 45-64, and 65+). Seven percent of drivers reported having had an accident while distracted, with the most commonly reported distraction being the drivers' own thoughts (2.5%), followed by looking at something outside the vehicle (2%) and talking to a passenger (1.1%). Furthermore, 35.7% reported having had a near-miss while distracted, with manipulating the audio entertainment system (8.6%) and talking to passengers (8.2%) being the most common distraction types. The percentage of drivers who reported having had an accident while talking on a hand-held phone, and for reading or sending text messages, were both 0.2%. The proportion of drivers who reported having had a near-miss while talking on a handheld mobile phone, hands-free phone or text messaging (reading or sending), were 2.4%, 0.7% and 4.6%, respectively. However, when drivers were asked whether they knew anybody who had crashed while engaged in each distraction type measured, hand-held phone use was the most commonly identified task. Additionally, we explored potential differences in risk perception, descriptive norms and engagement in distractions between those who experienced an accident or a near-miss and those who did not, for each distraction type. Those who reported engaging in each distraction type were also more likely to report having experienced a crash or near-miss related to that distraction type. Although researchers and public policies place a lot of emphasis on technological distractions, in particular phone-related distractions, these are not the distraction types that are most commonly reported by drivers in relation to accidents, which could suggest that a much broader perspective on driver distraction would be beneficial.

The performance of professional tasks with a high cognitive, emotional, and even physiological demand, can cause a state of mental fatigue, which implies attentional alterations, greater errors in the tasks performed and a decrease in personal and work productivity caused by a deterioration of the cognitive control processes. The present study presents a mobile phone application named BAlert that allows monitoring and controlling the body&#39;s fatigue processes based on the scores obtained in the Stroop effect and the heart rate variability. A pilot study has been carried out with a sample of 63 adults who have used the application a total of 942 times. The results allow us to classify the subjects, by logistic regression analysis, in their fatigue levels in 74% of the occasions. These results highlight the importance of this mobile application to control work fatigue processes in different possible scenarios (military, health, sports, business, etc.).
